LOTW 2.3 download speed

Post by KD0ZV »

Maybe I have something set wrong as my LOTW download even with the paper QSL checked <EDIT- Meant to say UNCHECKED> is still extremely slow.

Took 8 minutes for the download. V1 was not an issue.

I also see a lot of WARN: Multiple QSOs updated.... since installing. Last download had about 100 of them-- best guess.

I have "Last download" checked.

I will say I have seen times where the LOTW download is complete in 15 seconds. But is a rarity.

Attached is the log from that LOTW downloaded. Tried it again and was a couple minutes faster. 6 minute D/L compared to 8.

I love the new updates in Log4OM, and the first time I did the LoTW download it was quick. Now, about an hour later after 8-10 new FT8 QSO's, I did an upload and then did a second download. It sat at "Begin ADIF download...." for 5 minutes, and then advanced to "Parsing FULL ADIF file . . ." ("retrieve paper" is NOT selected either time), and I'm still waiting for results about another 5 minutes later. In Ver 1 a download would take perhaps 10 seconds. Aha - the parse just started and I'm getting what appears to be the full download with multiple QSO's, etc., as I did in the prior release, but none of the "proxy updates" Shouldn't the action be requesting updates since a certain date/time, not a "FULL ADIF" download?

Were these two checked?

Terry - thanks for quick response - no, only the "last download" was checked, assuming that caused it only to look since the last download. I just checked both and the download was quick, as originally expected. It seems redundant, but I will go read the manual on this subject. Thanks again.
