Problems with the Message Service, Version 2.31.0

I downloaded and installed the latest version and have been having all sorts of problems with the Message Service (which I use a lot so I have gone back to version 2.30.1) and I am wondering if anyone else has had any problems with the latest version ????...

Are you refering to the 'Chat' system or something else

Please provide a more detailed report of the issue

Saying "having all sorts of problems with the Message Service" is like phoning your garage and telling them "My car has gone wrong" there is no starting point for investigation

when you click on the small square that is below the "S" reading to the right of the callsign box, it open a window called "Off-Air Message Service" call it 'chat' if you like.

For me, when I am using version 2.31.0, sending someone a message here sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. In addition, this little square will flash red, and when I click it, there is no message to be seen. Also, when I send someone a message is does not then appear in the yellow area at the top of this message window.... Also, when someone sends me a message, the red flashing square never stops flashing... NONE of this happens with version 2.30.1.0.. this version works as it should.

The thing is, I do not know if this is happening for others, or is it just me ???

OK seems we have a title missmatch it should be named User Chat as it is in the other menu.

I have been testing it all morning and its working for me so perhaps you had a bad download or install, please try downloading and installing again and report back

OK Terry, as suggested, I have re downloaded the file.. both downloads are the same size @ 89,417 KB. I have installed the latest download and so far, things seem like they might be working correctly tho its too early to know for sure. Please send me a chat message so that I can see if the flashing red square behaves correctly this time..

Further by way of edit.. For me, this version had a problem and I am again going back to the previous version which worked flawlessly.

As a test, I sent out several messages. I am assuming that some people replied because the small square box started flashing, but when clicked, there was nothing there. This happened 3 times over a 2 hour period so version 2.31.0 has now gone from my system and 2.30.1 has been reinstalled.

thanks for trying Terry but sadly it never arrived... Or perhaps it was one of the times that the box was flashing and nothing was there (see edited info in my previous message)

since posting my last message about this, I have installed 2.31 and then 2.30 and then 2.31 etc etc for a total of 5 times and 2.31 has the original problem (for me) every single time. I really do hope that I am not alone in this and that others will speak up.
