currently, the chat window only opens (flashing red or not) when you click the left hand box that is beneath the S reading area.
Could an option be added, via a tick box or similar, in settings, that will allow the user to set the chat window to auto open when a messages is received. If this was a user setting I for one would have it enabled, mainly because I frequently don't notice the flashing box.
