PLEASE NOTE: I am absolutely not an expert in RDA diploma
my comments follow my findings but must be validated by an expert (Claus: OE6CLD ?)


I had posted in the Award section, but having no answer I transfer and detail a little more in this section
I'm still trying to update my Log for RDAs

IF we have filled in the Award RDA field number for example TA-09 (awards Refs in the Edit QSO window)
Log4OM should automatically update :

- the "STATE" field :

Indeed if we enter the RDA number automatically we deduce the STATE :

Example if I set TA-09 ==> automatically Log4OM puts in the field "Group": "Republic of Tatarstan"
it means that the
STATE = Tatarstan
can also automatically deduct the value for
- the RUSSIA award:

if you have entered TA-09 then the RUSSIA award must necessarily be "TA"
In the same Time :
- Comment Field :

Log4OM automatically update the RDA Field by looking at the "Comment" Field, If this field contains an RDA reference (Like "TA-09" ), well Log4OM automatically put this value in the RDA, and that works fine
BUT
the reverse is not true, then if one enters an RDA,
would it not be possible that this RDA is automatically put in the "Comment" field.

This could be a user validated option, but it would be a security

it would be nice if it was done automatically

This is related to awards so please confine your queries/suggestions to the one awards thread, no duplicate posts please.

I suggest that you update the post in the awards section and delete this one, if Claus cannot resolve it he will move the thread to this area.

You might also email Clause and point him to the thread because he is a working guy and does not spend all of his time checking here.

Hi Daniel,

There is no connection between awards, this would increase complexity a lot. Sure, it would be nice to enter e.g. an IIA (Italian Island Award) or GIA (German Island Award) reference number and automatically the matching IOTA reference number will be added. Or you enter a COTA reference and the WCA reference will be added. The same is true for the RDA (Russian Districts Award) and Russia Award.

The only filter we have is the DXCC entity. This means, you only will see reference numbers matching the DXCC entity of the callsign (although, a reference number can be shown for more than one DXCC entity). Therefore, we rely on the integrity of the reference lists published by the award issuers.

If there is additional information added in the reference lists provided, I usually enter this into the comment field. But this is only comment and not connected to anything else.
