I have a csv file with my 3000+ VKFF parks including a gridsquare for each park
I can import without merge after assigning the fields, and I get the gridsquare installed.. but of course without merge removes all other DXCC entities.
So I try to merge.. the merge process comes back without error,.. 3000+ imported... but the gridsquare is NOT updated. It remains empty.
I can, of course, edit each one by one to place a gridsquare but this would be crazy.
Can anyone tell me how to set the gridsquare of 3000+ VKFF references without emptying the whole award?

Import/Merge for Gridsquare Update

Re: Import/Merge for Gridsquare Update
I might add that I am using 2.20.0.0
and I have tried adding a reference sub group value
I've tried adding valid from and to values and also reference alias field value - and al of these these in multiple ways with/without.
I have also tried saving straight after the import and also going back to the references tab then saving.. I've tried the Update Award menu option...
I've also tried with and without DXCC value
All to no effect.
I have also added my own Silos on the Air Award, with a similar format csv file and the gridsquare and other field values do get imported as expected.

Re: Import/Merge for Gridsquare Update
Actually "merge" allow the system to load references not found in the actual list, so you can load the whole award with some updates and it will get only the updates.
Merge is not actually intended as "insert/update".
One way can be editing the database with SQLPLUS removing all VK references for WWFF award and then merge...
Unfortunately when we download data from official sources there are no gridsquare in the file, so your changes will be overwritten by the next award update.
(i'm thinking about adding a "preserve" flag) in one of the next releases.
In the meanwhile i'll check if i can improve the merge routine

Re: Import/Merge for Gridsquare Update
Thanks Daniele,
Can you tell me where the awards are stored?
I see a lot of json files and xml files in the appdata/roaming directory and only a master database but nothing else ending in .sqlite

Re: Import/Merge for Gridsquare Update
Just tested the merge feature and it works well. Thanks.
So I will need to do this each time after a standard awards update?
And also - you mentioned SQL as an option - I already use SQL for other things, can you tell me where the SQL database is for awards?
