I am using the View configuration to set up my layouts

when a go in the tab Column layout and I press the X button (forgot to go back to Column selection and press the save button) I loose the configuration (of course)

maybe an alert with a button are like "you sure to discard changes (Yes - NO)" could be helpful (if any changes have been done)

I would suggest that the "Save" button be put on the window background below the tabbed objects, that way the "Save" button would be visible and useable on both tabs. This would be similar to the arrangement with the Log4OM Settings dialog window - the Save, Print and other buttons on the bottom are usable/visible, regardless of the tab selected.
