Re: A day in the life of user support

I just want to say THANK YOU to the Log4OM team for all that they do to help the ham community. It seems to me that any issue that comes up is accepted like some sort of paid work project rather than a voluntary, free service. I appreciate Terry's comments below and especially want to thank Nolan fo...

Re: Struggling with QSL Manager

I recently upgraded from V1 to V2. The upgrade was much easier than I thought it would be, and it was a good idea to allow V1 to remain operational. The only problem I have had thus far is the same as described in this thread with receiving hundreds of "Not Found QSOs" from a LOTW download. It may m...

Re: Loss of CAT Control on TS-590SG

I did not consider that possibility, but now that you mention it, I could see how that could be true. Thanks for the feedback. 73

Re: Loss of CAT Control on TS-590SG

Terry, I wanted to follow up now that I am back at the station. I bought a new Serial/USB cable and swapped out the RT cable. No change. What I did try next was swapping out Rig 1 and Rig 2. When I switched to Rig 1, I got the CAT control back. Rig 2 with the identical settings would not work with t...

Re: Loss of CAT Control on TS-590SG

Understand Terry and thanks for the feedback. Yes, I realize that different programs might use the same cable with different demands. I'll try another cable as well as checking the CAT menu setting. The KW software allows me to save all of my settings, so a complete reset is not that much of an issu...

Re: Loss of CAT Control on TS-590SG

My set up is pretty simple. I don't run any other software on this computer with the TS 590SG, at least not yet. The only other CAT software I run is FT8, but that with different radio, on the same computer. I am not an FT8 fan, and it has been a long while since I even turned FT8 on. I'll give that...

Re: Loss of CAT Control on TS-590SG

Are you plugging the USB cable directly into the computer or is it connected to a USB hub? I am making a direct connection to the computer USB connection Have you tried a different interface cable? No, I have not tried that. I don't have a spare serial/USB cable but that is one possibility. I can se...

Re: Loss of CAT Control on TS-590SG

Terry, Thanks for the reply. Your suggestions are certainly welcome, and I have already been thru each one on my own. I was set up to use COM 4 (which had been working), but just for the sake of it, I changed the COM port number to 2 and reset Onmirig to COM 2. No change. I even tried COM 20, nothin...

Re: Loss of CAT Control on TS-590SG

Terry,

Nothing else running with Log4OM and Omnirig. I used the KW CAT program just to see if the 590SG and port on the radio was working. The KW software is disconnected.

Should I try completely removing and reloading Log4OM ? Thanks for your help, Terry

Re: Loss of CAT Control on TS-590SG

I updated Windows and reloaded the drivers. Still no CAT with Omnirig. I did verify that the COM port is working on the 590SG with the KW control program. Not sure what else to do except reload the Log4OM and Omnirig software package.
