CWType integration

Hi all,
i`m using Log4OM for a couple of days now. I came over from Logger...
It seems to be a very nice Software, congratulations.
The one thing i wish to have is an integration of for example CWType. It would be very nice to get the QSO data into Log4OM.
Is this possible in the future ?
My interface is not provided by Winkeyer...

Best wishes and 73's de Mario, DK5VQ

Mario,
It is very unlikely that we will integrate CWType because it is a DXSoft program and they have their own logbook, AALog.

CWType also generates MCW or Modulated CW using a sound card which is not a legal transmission mode in many countries.

If you want that type of transmission of CW you can use FLDigi which already integrates with Log4OM

However our Winkeyer interface works very similarly to CWType except that you need a Winkeyer which then keys the transmitter properly for genuine CW.

Both FLDigi and our Winkeyer interface log the QSO directly into Log4OM

Hi Terry, tnx for your information.

BTW... my Interface is keying CW. IMO it's no MCW.
It's connected to the key connector of the TRX.
I use Interface One from Box73 with CW keying (DTR) and PTT (RTS)
I didn't know that FlDigi can do real keying in CW, I will try out...hope it works with my Interface.
In Logger's CW Machine, i had a choice to select "Software" instead of Winkey, that worked fine with my Interface...

EDIT: I tried out FlDigi, it doesn`t work. On my Com3 with DTR i only get PTT. Means that when i try to send CW, there is only one permanent dash. No keying....
Seems i have to live with the problem or buy a winkeyer...

73's....

Hi Mario,

if you are looking for an interface with Winkey emulation check out this link: http://www.g4zlp.co.uk/unified/DigiMaster_CW.htm

Personally i am using the CW Keyer by MicroHAM. Works great with Log4OM and my old IC-735.

Think both interfaces are "easy to use" but the DigiMaster CW interface can handle streight key´s and paddles, the MicroHam only paddles i think.

Both interfaces should also working with contest loggers like RCK- , UCXlog and N1MM (only as example) which can use the winkey standard but i can not test it in the moment. To less time and something to do b4 the qth change at 01/08 ;) ;)

This sounds interesting.

What are the recommended (if any) winkeyers to buy. (Not too steep! :) )

The Winkeyer USB is very good

Or the G4ZLP version

http://www.g4zlp.co.uk/unified/DigiMaster_CW.htm

Or go the whole hog and get the combined CAT/DATA/CW/FSK Digimaster Pro Three fro G4ZLP - FANTASTIC BIT OF KIT :D

Thanks.
The top two were 2 I did find, looks like they are the main ones then.
I don't need the data modes, not really interested in that.

Is it straightforward to get Log4OM to talk to the G4ZLP unit?
