Hello,
I am using Log4OM version 2 a on Windows 10 Pro machine. Everything is working great but I do not get an audio alarm or a popup window when a the callsign comes up in the cluster view. I have check all the setting and I think it all correct. There is an alarm icon on the bottom of the screen that I am thinking is telling me the alert alarm is active.
Thanks for your help.

Which version of Log4OM V2 are you using? Help / About and the detailed version ID will be just above the Welcome Message button.
Make sure you have also downloaded the most current User Guide: Help / User Guide / English (force update)
There continue to be many updates to the User Guide and I suggest you check quite often for updates.
That being said ... look at Cluster Alerts in the current User Guide on Page 52. The steps to set up the alerts are noted there. The Alert button is in the main UI just above the word "Grid". It will illuminate when an alert is active and will also beep/chirp/honk (several audio sounds to choose from) as well.

Re: Alert - Does not play sound
Hi Nolan,
I am using version 2.3.0.0. I have the alert setup for VP8PJ and when he shows up in the cluster view the alarm icon does not change and the audio file that I picked does not play. If I click on the alert icon a popup window is displayed with a green check mark in it. I checked the alarm manager to make sure I had entered the correct callsign and it is correct. I'll go back and review the latest manual as you suggested. It must be something simple I am missing.
Thank you,
Keith

Re: Alert - Does not play sound
Nolan,
It's working now! I just changed "New one" on the left side of the "By stats" window to "not confirmed band or emission type" on the right side.
Thank you,
Keith

Good to hear (no pun intended). Setting Alerts is an adventure for sure. Sometimes the logic eludes me and I have to putz with it a lot a few times.

Re: Alert - Does not play sound
Somebody help me get this feature going before I go nuts. I went to page 51 and I see:
Cluster Alerts
When a desired spot is received by the cluster an audio alert can be activated by checking the 'Play sound on new cluster alert' check box in the options/Cluster/Alerts tab. Where in blazes do I find the (options/Cluster/Alerts) tab? I see the Cluster Alerts button above Grid on the main UI but clicking on that shows nothing useful.
I would appreciate it if someone could walk me through the complete setup step by step.
Thanks and 73, Bob

When you are at the Main UI click on: Settings / Program Configuration / Cluster / Alerts --- That is where you can enable the alert sound and test a few different sound wav files that are included. Tic the Sound 1, 2, 3 ... etc.. and then tap the speaker cone to hear that wav file. You must also tic the Enable alert sound else there will not be any sound.
I can see where the verbiage in the User Guide can be tweaked a tad to better match what appears now in V2. Terry wrote that portion quite some time ago when different labels were being used in V2.
Let me know if this helps you out.

Re: Alert - Does not play sound
Thanks Nolan, I understand how to test the sound alarms but how do you get Log4OM to actually alert you to a particular DX spot you need? In my case for example, I am looking to be audibly alerted whenever VP8PJ shows up on 30m CW. I don't understand step by step the setup procedure for this. How do you get it to light up the Alert light?

OK ... now your question has been made more clear. I have also set up a very simple Alert for VP8PJ. I have it alert me for all modes on all bands. Very simple. Start at: Settings / Alert Configuration and then select the "new" button and begin entering your items for the alert.
You can copy what I have in my Alert (images below). You can click on the Band/Mode Tab and also tic 30m and CW to add more filtering. Once you get things set click the floppy disc save button. Make sure that your new filter status is clicked to Green. Also be sure to select your Cluster Sources and save with your initial configuration for the alert.
The User Guide instructions for Filtering alerts starts on Page 52 of the most recent version.
Let me know if this works for you.
I see the images posted with the first/start tab at the bottom of the 4.
