Setting RST Format for New Mode

Post by M0TRZ »

Hoping someone can help...... For an upcoming contest I have added a new mode in 'modelist' and selected it in the user configuration and I can select it both from the main log and the contest log screens. The problem lies in that it is showing the RST as 599 and it is a phone mode requiring a 2 digit RST.

I can see in the RSTlist where the format is defined for the different emission types but can not see how I can associate my mode (PH) to be emission type (phone) to give it the required RST format.

I have entered my new mode as a submode of SSB as far as I can tell in modelist by entering PH;PH;SSB;PH but to be honest I am struggling to work out the format and meanings of some of the list files.

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

This is the recognised mode list, anything other may not be accepted for confirmations and log uploads to award and contest managers, why do you require the odd format?

Many thanks for the Quick reply, its for the SSB Field day this weekend, required format below, I have got a converter to change to Cabrillo but it wants PH as mode. Worst case I can just use SSB as the mode and then do a find and replace prior to converting to Cabrillo.

RSGB CW & SSB Field Days -- Example of Cabrillo log

Notes: (1) The robot will determine the correct Section from the dialogue during log entry.
(2) For SSB Field Day replace "RSGB-NFD" by "RSGB-SSB-FD" & "CW" by "PH"

You will be best to use a converter because otherwise any other uploads like to LOTW etc will reject the mode if it's not ADIF format
