SHUTTLE XPRESS, dials and keyboard shortcuts

Post by SP5NZF »

Hi,
I'm new fun of L4Ong - it's excellent sw. But my G90 VFO knob is so tiny, I'd like to control it via L4Ong using ShuttleExpress or other USB-connected DJ controller (I'm not that mouse fun). If not directly supported by s/w, these often can emulate keyboard sequence. So:
1. Is any of those supported directly or via 3rd party s/w ?
2. Where could I find keyboard shortcut for VFO control ?
3. Any list of other shortcuts and their configuration (e.g. I'd set other shortcuts for favorite RST) ?
Regards

Also for me this function is very interesting.
I have an optional keyboard with programmable keys and two encoders.
It would be great to program it to control the VFO and other functions.

Can u post link/model?

My lessons taken since original post:
1. L4om does not expose such api currently.
2. I access omnirig simultaneously with l4om from little vb programme (any other incl. Office vba works too). currently I have on-screen "catbar" with buttons to: swap cw-ssb, swap vfo A-B, split: no-1up,2up, 3up, 5up, 10up. Simple but great for my g90. Vfo knob: Looking into hooking encoder via arduino via udp but I do not know would latency be acceptable :)

This way l4om does logging catbar does cat. Less user friendly than would be in l4om but maybe one day...
