Google Map Zoom w/o Mouse

The user guide says to zoom the Google map using the mouse scroll wheel. Is there a way to zoom using a laptop without a mouse?
On my laptop, I am able to zoom in or out with a 2-finger expanding or contracting motion on the touch pad.
