FT8 Contacts do not respect Confirmations Options

Post by CT1BXX »

Hi,
Just today I realized that FT8 contacts do not follow some QSL options:
No matter what option I have in the "Confirmations/Options", the value for LOTW Sent, LOTW Rcvd ,EQSL Sent , EQSL Rcvd, always appears as "Requested" (in my options I have all in "NO").
In the others (QSL, HAMQTH, ClubLog and QRZCOM, follow the options correctly.

Contacts from FLDigi are working fine.

Have a nice day.

Log4OM 2.15
JTAlert 2.50.2
JTDX 2.2.156

Hello Manuel, that is a wrong setting in JTalert. Elsewhere in the JTalert settings you have checked the box for the Requested option.

JTalert overrides the QSL settings of Log4OM so if requested is set in JTalert you got a wrong status.
73´s .. Juergen ... ALT-512 SDR (10W) , 50 m random wire at SG-211 autotuner, 2 x Xiegu G90 (20W HF TRX) one as portable Radio. Also TS-790E (40 W) for VHF/UHF with X-50 vertical and Duoband 4-Element LPDA.

Juergen,

Wonderful :D
Your help was invaluable, I hadn't paid attention to that detail.
Now is OK!
Thank you very much for your help.

Not worked any FT4/FT8 since december 2020 but this is a known problem with JTalert.
Not a big deal, HI.

;) ;)

Juergen,

It isn't a problem in JTAlert. If someone checks the wrong options, the problem is with the user, not the program. The instruction for this setting is clearly spelled out in the JTAlert help file. Incidentally, I am certainly guilty of checking wrong options in various programs at times, and I take full responsibility, and don't blame the program. The options in any program are there to give the user a choice. It is up to the user to decide which choice suits him or her.

Hi Jim, i not wrote "a problem in JTalert". I mean that it´s a known problem here with JTalert
if the Requested Box in JTalert is marked. Most time some failures ( don´t wont to write errors)
are made by the user himself.

Since this thread just helped me, thought I would add a screen shot of what needs to be unchecked in JTALERT. I was having the same issue with normal Log4OM logging would have "NO" for sent/receive defaults (preferred), but the QSO's coming in from JTALERT were set to "Requested" for sent/received. Thanks for sending me over to the JTALERT settings as I was (rightly) struggling to find the setting in log4om (after RTM and watching the requisite 3 YouTube videos) for inbound QSO defaults (exists in JTALERT not Log4OM).

Anyhow, thanks! Jim/K7MK
