Import of WSJT .adi ~ EA8DR State of TF..??

Post by G8LIY »

Hi,

I imported a WSJT .adi into Log4OM v2.11
The station "EA8DR" appears to be in the State of TF, in the QSO detail, the State drop down contains Tenerife or Las Palmas, unable to change to Blank
There is nothing in the original .adi that I can see to cause this, it shows TF in Log4OM adi
I have checked other "EA8" QSO's, the State is "Blank", But the drop down shows: Tenerife or Las Palmas

Re: Import of WSJT .adi ~ EA8DR State of TF..??

Post by G4POP »

I just did a test QSO using WSJT with EA8DR and the QSO was transferred to Log4OM with nothing in the state field even after a QRZ lookup so I dont have a clue where the state came from unless it was originated by HRD also?

The drop down only shows two possibilities eg Tenerife or Las Palmas but if you dont select either or save the edit the field will remain empty. We include these choices in case there is a WASP (Worked all Spanish Prefectures award) at some time in the future.

When we export an ADIF we export exactly the data in the logbook so if state field contains anything it gets exported

Remedial action

To remove the state go to the QSO Manager

Select the QSO

Select the 'Single field update' tab

Select the 'State' field

Check the box 'Clear field'

Click 'Update' button

That will resave the QSO with an empty state field.

Its not important

Even if some QSO's have a state when they should not your WAS award will be correct because the award first sorts according to DXCC entity, in this case 291 for the US so your award will be accurate even if some odd QSO for a Spanish contact had 'TX' (Texas) in the state field it would not be included.

Same applies to WAJA (Worked all Japanese Prefectures Award), WAIP (Worked all Italian Provinces Award) etc - The DXCC entity is the prime filter before collating the contents of the State/Prefecture field

Hi Terry,

Thanks...
I have looked at some other EA8's... They are O.K
This one is only a few days old direct from WSJTX .adi file... I have not used HRD properly since 2015, a few QSO's entered 2018..??

I have spotted a few other STATE anomalies, an old UA9MA with "OM", State drop down contains lot's of Departments/Regions..??

Will try your fix ASAP

Many Thanks.. 73 Dave

See my comments and reflect if it's really an issue worth wasting time on?

Hi Terry,,

It's done...
In the QSO Manager I dragged the State Field next to Callsign, sorted on State... I was able to fix 18 quite quickly...
I hate bad data... A cast off(habit) from my previous life :)

I have another Query, IOTA and Island Group... For another Post
