Mini PC windows for Log4OM

Post by iw2evh »

Hi,
I am considering switching from Mac to PC to manage the station.
I would like your opinion on the choice of this MiniPc to work with Log4OM and N1MM

I run a NUC (Mini pc) for all my radio software. It runs Log4om, PSTRotator, JTDX and JTAlert. It runs very nicely. I hope this helps.

Chris,

Just curious ... how does it handle a heavy cluster (or multiple clusters) load during a special event? Of course it depends upon processor speed, etc., etc..

My "more mature" laptop (IE: older/slower processor) tends to bog down a tad during the CQWW events and similar.

Albeit ... it is still working FB, but always on the lookout for a replacement when the old Dell laptop goes toes-up on me. ;)

I use a raspberry 2, where dxspider works very well. The second raspberry 2, works with DxSpider rnb cw skimmer, this too all ok.

My NUC is a 15-8259U 2.3 Ghz with 8gig RAM and a 500g hdd. I havent seen it slow down even during a contest with a heavy cluster.
