I have discovered that if I turn off the qrz.com under info providers in my configuration it will respond just like it always has (Quickly)! However it will not populate any of the pictures of the callsign I am looking up if they have one on there QRZ page.

Hopefully this may give someone an idea?? I have ran this software for a few years now and have never had any issue with it at all, but unsure what has caused this issue... my brother inlay too runs it and has slower internet in his shack and is not having any of the issues that I too am experiencing.

Any other suggestions??

Thanks

Jeff,

Tnx for the input and trouble-shooting. This will be helpful.

Do you have an account at ham.qth? It is free and a backup source (of sorts) for QRZ. The data that is provided by ham.qth is not quite as robust as QRZ, but it is a good backup. I know many OMs who refuse to use QRZ and will only populate their data at ham.qth.

As another layer of trouble-shooting maybe give ham.qth a try and see if you get the same slow response as you do with QRZ.

I've tried both on my installation, but am not seeing the same thing.

I just signed up with QRZCQ… it works just like it should with this provider. But as you stated… there are not as many users on with these other providers this making QRZ my ultimate choice! I have also sent a troubleshooting request to QRZ explaining the issue in case there is a problem with my subscription. I can send you those replies when I receive them! They are not nearly as quick as you are!😊 They said it could take up to 3 days to get a reply back. Meanwhile I will use the QRZCQ while this is being worked in. Or just not have the QRZ pictures populating! Thanks for your reply and I hope this information is beneficial to you! Your program is Awesome! 73!

Jeff,

Have you looked at HAMQTH ???

It has been years/years since I've looked into QRZCQ.

HamQTH does provide images ... IF the OM has uploaded an image into their profile. If the OM has not done such it will provide a 'stock' image.

Just for curiosity sake ... what happens to the QRZ lookup if you turn off the Profile Image option at: Settings / Configuration / Info Providers / Configuration

There is a tic box for that option at the bottom of that page.

When I un check QRZ it works great with the exception of the globe on the right is grey out that activates the QRZ site and there are no images being displayed on the right Hand side in the "Stats" view. I found this puzzling as well... not sure where Log4OM is gathering the Data for the individuals information when the Primary and Failsafe sources are disabled?? But it does populate the data as normal... just no pirates and link available to QRZ!

Jeff,

Disabling the QRZ.COM Info Provider will not have the globe bring up qrz.com for data lookups. Thus it may gray out indicating it is not active.

If you have NO Info Provider enabled Log4OM will review your log as WB4 data and will also scan the Country and Clublog data files.

FWIW - I've included screen clips of my current Info Provider configuration.

Thanks for the screen shots! I rearranged the order of my priorities to match yours. (I had mine set the way the came from the author of this software) It does not change anything... I still get the delay up to 3 minutes in some instances! If I uncheck the "Show profile image in main user interface" then we are working as normal... but no image. My issue has to do with the image for some reason! What puzzles me as is to why and why all of a sudden. I have never had any issues with this!
Again, QRZCQ does not present this issue, but they do not have a abundance of user that have the images available on their accounts. I also have registered with HamQTH and it works great via my browser. When I set it up as my failsafe source when I test it I get an error! I have double checked the account name and password multiple times. Not sure what the issue there is.

Jeff
What version of Log4OM are you using help/about

Try turning on 'Trace mode' in the help menu and then replicate the issue

Now in the help file look at the Logfile, you should see the delay and what is causing it

I am currently running version 2.21.1.0 but was running the version 2.23.. But when this problem started someone else had stated reverting back fixed the proble. This is the only reason I am back on 2.21

I am not sure what I am looking for in the Logfile.. so I tested with and without the "Show Call Sign In User Interface" enabled. Here is the logfile capture. I am sure it may make more sense to you that me. But you can see the big difference in the Hang time!

I also received a response from QRZ support...

I'm sorry for the trouble. Your subscription is active and working properly on our end. You can check this at any time here: https://xmldata.qrz.com/xcheck

If you can perform lookups at the link above without delay, your QRZ subscription is live and you will need to contact the creator of your logging program to troubleshoot this issue.

Thank you for using QRZ.

Jeff,

You do not have the TRACE level enabled.

Go to: Help / Log Level .... The top item has 3 options in the dropdown. Select "Trace" ...

Then run your tests. Be sure you are using the most current version of Log4OM v.2.23.0.0 where it appears this hiccup is residing.

Then go to: Help / Open log file

You will see far more data and there will be labels of DEBUG and TRACE included.

Once done you can again select the "Info" log level or if you forget it will revert back to Info when you restart Log4OM.

Normal operating is for it to be at the "Info" level.
