Label print

Post by F6FLU »

Hello

1)
Label printing is sorted by call.
The central QSL office (REF) requires that the QSLs be sorted according to the receiver (the Manager if it exist),
or in the case where a Manager is used, the label should be sorted according to the manager's call and not according to the call to the QSO as is currently the case
In this example the QSLs are order like :
SQ9BDB and the next label is
TM18APL
while this label should be sorted with the F's QSOs because we use a QSL Manager : (QSL Via F4GPB)

2) QSL via :
in the case where we use a QSL Manager the line "QSL VIA xxxxx" could it not be on the first line ?,
we do not need the complete text but only "VIA"
We would therefore have on the first line for example:
F6FLU cfm qso: TM18APL VIA F4GPB

3) The last line :
on the last line we write the name of the country with its DXCC code.
I think it's really not helpful.
If I sent a QSL to SQ9BDB the fact of writing in the last line "Poland (269)" does not really help, SQ9BDB knows very well that he is Polish (well we have to hope :-) )

I propose instead of this last line, to be able to print a user text field (limited in number of characters) .
For example we could put the rig (FTdx5000 - Hexbeam)
I think that would be more useful to the correspondent than to indicate to him in which country he is :-)

and here is an example of QSL that I would like to be able to print :

As usual these proposals are made according to my feelings; but I hope you can take it into account

Thanks and 73

Hi Dan,

Your comments are very interesting, and it would be very good if they were taken into account.
I agree and I fully subscribe, hoping that this situation can be evaluated and revised.

Let's wait with faith and hope. :)

Hi all,

It would be great if the label print section will get a major upgrade.

At the moment I'm still using the BV7 label print software from DF3CB but unfortunately development has stopped two years ago.
The main advantages are the Label Designer and the QSL Bureau sorted printing as mentioned above by F6FLU.

The advantage of a label design feature is that you can print on a wide variety of labels and also direct on any QSL card design.
My label design in BV7 looks like this:

And printing will result in:

(for this I imported ADIFs for two calls and printed it in one Bureau sorted batch).

So, if the team would consider this kind of features, that would be great!

The only pain in the ass still is the QSL manager field on qrz.com filled with a lot of garbage by users that I have to delete before printing the QSL labels ;-)

Elmar, and all
That is a nice design out of BV7. I use BV7 also.
If the L4OM label would show the QSL manager (when applicable) in much bigger characters, and on top of the label, that would be nice.
AFAIAC, the ADID DXCC number and name are completely useless onthe label...

Hi,

The example you present is an excellent suggestion, it really makes it easier to have "Via: " highlighted and in the position we see here.

Searching the QSL I have received over the years, none has my DXCC, as my call sign is enough for the buro to forward to the country to which the call sign belongs.
At the same time, I consulted the rules of my QSL Bureau and this requirement is not necessary.

Ending with the inclusion of the destination country DXCC would be a good option to have more space in the qsl Label, or even to put Tx / RX, antenna, power, perhaps more appropriate and interesting information.
Let's hope that in a future version this can be reformulated. :)
