I have altered the modelist.csv to show FT8 as a mode, but the default reports are showing as 599. FT8 uses the same reporting as JT65, so how can I change the default report to db?
Hi Charlie,
I am away at the moment without a proper PC so cant check but from memory if FT8 is a JT65 sub mode (Derivative) your mode entry should be something like shown below:
Phil,
The new mode is still in beta, but is available as source code on Sourceforge. The various binaries that you may find for v1.7.1 (the one with FT8) are not released by the developers. The developers believe a new release will be available to everyone soon.
Sorry, you also need to modify the 'RSTmode.csv' file which is in the configuration folder (Help/Open configuration folder) by adding |FT8 at the end of the third line (JT line) as below
Terry,
Would one of these changes cause a downloaded eQSL acknowledgement to change from a mode JT65 to a mode FT8? I have one like that where eQSL and Log4OM agree that this QSO's mode was JT65. Using QSL Management to download from eQSL I see the following: "7/4/2017 3:58:12 AM: QSO NOT FOUND : KF7RQD 122200 20170619 40m FT8
JT65"
Everthing is correct except that the "FT8" does not belong, and doesn't exist in the eQSL record or the Log4OM record, but apparently it exists in the download from eQSL.
Probably because the mode is not yet an officially recognised (Listed) mode by ADIF
Try juggling with the mode list entry order like JT65;FT8;JT65;FT8 combinations to see if a certain combination enables the download and also maintains the RST list correctly.
You can of course manually change the QSL status of that QSO
I an sorry but I cant do that for you because I don't use FT8 and therefore don't have any QSL's to download from eQSL.
Why do you use FT8? I know its faster but its less sensitive than the other JT modes and designed for 'E' propagation, not HF
