Can't log QSO"s in the 222 MHz band

Post by k4xr »

I apologize if there is an earlier message on this topic, but I couldn't find it. I am using the latest version (1.39) and I am unable to log contacts on the 222 MHz band. I get an "OUT OF BAND" message when I enter a frequency on the 222 MHz band. I have made sure that my IARU and my ITU settings are correct. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

That is because that band is not in the region 2 bandplan

Let me have your allowed bandplan for 222 and I will amend the bandplan

Here is the IARU Region 2 bandplan. However, the US bandplan is different. Not sure which you want. The US allocation does not include 220.000 through 222.000 anymore, but in quite a few region 2 countries, 220-222 is still allocated for amateur. Also, the US now has an amateur allocation at 219-220 for "Fixed Digital", but I don't think anyone will be wanting to log contacts for that range. Would guess that the best solution may be just 220-225 since that should take care of most of the countries involved.

This is why its not in the region 2 bandplan

Regional variances are covered in the bandplan_DXCC???.xml files, however we will not add frequencies that are not regionally or Internationally allowed.

The user can add whatever frequencies he wishes, just modify the bandplan_r2.xml then save it with the name bandplan_r2_user.xml so that it will not be overwritten during a program update and will be selected automatically by Log4OM on start up.

The bandplan files are located at C:\.......................\AppData\Roaming\LogOM

Terry,

I DID NOT ask that you "add frequencies that are not regionally or Internationally allowed." 220-225 IS Regionally Allowed, but your suggested solution does not work, and I've screwed around long enough trying to fix it. I've used LOG4OM for several years, but am moving on. Good luck to whoever developed some brilliant rationale for not including the 220 band that is allocated to and used by dozens of countries.

Sorry your upset but you said "The US allocation does not include 220.000 through 222.000 anymore" which prompted my reply.

I don't know why we did not add the band, I will check this out, and its a shame that you feel you wasted your time but as as I said it can be overcome quiet simply.

Any way we are sad to see you leave and hope that you find a program more suited to your requirements.
