Hi. Long time Log4OM user. Thanks for the great software.
My XP computer crashed so I'm trying to install on a Windows7 Pro computer. I download and installed. Seemed to go fine. But when I start the program I am getting Error message boxes saying resource files are not found. For example one is "Could not find file 'C\User\KA4CDN\AppData\Roaming\Log4OM\resourcestrings.xml'." Also missing iotaDB.xml,
clublog.xml,
So it seems I'm missing files or something. Other strange things like all the tab words blink once per second.
Please help. I actually bought this Windows computer solely for Log4OM. If I can't use it, all my other ham software would prefer to be on Linux.
Thanks,
Mike
New install ver1_23_0
Re: New install ver1_23_0
I don't know what happened but I un-installed again and re-installed. THis time I'd deleted the Log4OM data in the AppData Roaming directory and now I do not get the error.
The tabs are still blinking but I hope that stops once I get it configured.
I have my MySQL database file, my last ADI file and my configuration file. I now need to figure out how to restore them.

Re: New install ver1_23_0
your "bad" installation missed to create/update the configuration folder in roaming.
The reinstall fixed that, apparently.
Backup files:
config and communicator config should be placed in the roaming/LogOm folder and named: config.xml and communicatorconfig.xml
Once you have restored (log4om should be closed before) your configuration files, start log4om and check all paths if something changed (lotw tqsl file, backup file, location of sqlite database, path to mysql database and so on).
If you plan to connect to an existing mysql database DON'T recreate database, simply connect to the existing one (dumb suggestion but could save lifes
)
In case of troubles, restore from ADIF. All informations used in Log4OM are saved in the ADIF file and can be retrieved from there (assuming you exported database without the "export only standard ADIF fields" flag
