Re: Startup defaults
The start up band and mode are generally taken from your radio via CAT control? Perhaps you don't use CAT?
If you don't use CAT control then the default band and mode cannot be altered, however the power can be changed in the options/station info tab

Hi Terry
No not using CAT at the moment but intend the use my IC-7100 which covers all the bands I use, for now I will change my power level in the Station Config

Re: Startup defaults
Bill,
If you are going to use the IC7100 a couple of things to remember
1. YOU MUST INSTALL THE ICOM USB DRIVERS BEFORE CONNECTING THE IC7100
2. Ensure that you download and updater the Omnirig software and also the latest Omnirig rig ini files because to get the best from the 7100 dual VFO's you need the ini file named IC-7100e4
I love my IC7100 and use it for all operations including DSTar

Re: Startup defaults
Hi Terry
The USB drivers are installed and working for the 7100.
I have downloaded Omnirig software and installed it and have also downloaded the ini file named IC-7100e4, however the 7100 does not appear in the RIg list.
I original thought I could connect the 7100 direct using the CAT manager, but the 7100 is not listed there either, why do I need Omnirig?
Thanks Bill

Re: Startup defaults
Hi Bill,
You need Omnirig because the Hamlib support for Icom is abysmal
In your Log4OM options/cat & Cluster tab select Omnirig as your CAT software and click the save (Floppy) icon
Ensure that Omnirig is installed
Restart Log4OM and click the CAT button
Select the settings as shown below but for rig 1 in your situation - I have my IC7600 as rig 1 and the IC7100 as rig 2
Click OK
Providing your radio is connected to the computer and the radio is turned on you should now see the following

Re: Startup defaults
Hi Terry
It's easy, once you know how
I thought that the ic-7100 would connect without any additional software in the same way as my TS-590, anyway its working now
I have also included in the start up options to start Omni-rig, trust that correct? Will Omni-rig run in the background to save having the Omni-rig window open?
Cheers
Bill

Re: Startup defaults
remove Omnirig from the start up options it will automatically start and run in the background
As Log4OM starts it will run Omnirig without any intervention from you

Re: Startup defaults
Sorted, Log4OM now starts up with CAT control and no Omni-Rig window. I have only the power to adjust manually now
I thought it was good before but the more I use this program the more I like it. Thanks for all your help
