CAT connection

Post by welzi »

I want to connect my Log4OM software with a Yaesu FT-890 transceiver, however this model is not included in the rig list.
I have tried with versions as FT-857 or e.g. FT-900, however it does not work. I think I need a special FT-890.xml file? I searched for it but have not found any.
Note: OmniRig is already installed. Finally I want to link your software with FLdigi so that both modules get the same frequency from the transceiver and the mode....
Thanks for your help. DL2HMA

I have done a quick search and as far as I can see there is not a rig CAT definition in either the Hamlib Rigcat or Omnirig file definition lists. Best thing to do is contact the author of Omnirig and ask him for help.

There are instructions in the user guide and also a YouTube tutorial on integrating FLDigi with LOg4OM

Dear Terry,
thanks for the good advice. I have sent a mail to the relevant Omnirig party for further support.
However meanwhile I have tried the connection of the rig with Hamlib and it works since there is my model FT-890 available.
Thanks angain for the suport.
Sometimes it takes a little bit longer to investigate all possibilities.
Wishing all of you best greetings for the season
