JTALERT Disconnecting

Post by HI8SMX »

Good morning everybody. I’m having an issue with Log4OM and JtAlert. When I start all programs everything works fin but after a few minutes JtAlert looses connection to Log4OM and I get a log error. Everything seems to be well configured as it works at first. I use Windows 7 PC, Icom 7300 and with latest version of the others software. Also sometimes I loose connection to the radio. Any suggestions?

Hello Santiago,

did you have installed Omnirig, WSJT-X (or JTDX) and Log4OM that all is running with
administrator privileges like described in our manuals ?

By the way, JT-Alert don´t need installation as administrator but most other 3rd party
SW must be run as administrator.

Thanks, yes I have and still having the same issue. Once I log a qso the communicator disconnects and I’m forced to connect it manually. This happens after every qso. I left the programs on thru the night and this morning the communicator was still active (and WSJTX and JTAlert decoding fine), but as soon as I logged a qso it disconnected. Running out of things to check.

This is sometimes caused by the crap and unnecessary characters that WSJT sends with the data.

We had to add a quality check for this so check the box shown in the image below

Thanks terry. Will try that next thing in the morning tomorrow. Hopefully this will work, as I really liked Log4OM and would like it to be my everyday shack software. 73 de Santiago

I’m starting to feel frustrated on this matter. I’ve followed all instructions, uninstalled, reinstalled, ran as administrator, etc....and no matter what I do the communicator keeps disconnecting after I log a qso from JTAlert. It works perfectly until I log a Qso. I even got PstRotator running smoothly. I’m almost putting up the white flag!
Terry would you be able to TeamView my set up?

What versions of JTALERT and WSJT are you using?

Did you check that JTAlert and WSJT are also being Run as an administrator?

Thanks Terry, I'm using Wsjtx v2.0.1 and JtAlert 2.13.8, both latest version I believe. Yes, all programs are running as administrators. Nevertheless, after I wrote my last post out of frustration, I decided to give it one last try, while waiting for your response and guess what, it worked this time. Since last night it is working as it is supposed to. Nonetheless, I'll let you know if anything happens or if you still want to take a look, I'll be more than glad.
Thanks for the patience and collaboration.
