Cluster spot always changes mode and filter width?

Post by log4om123 »

V2 working great with IC-7300 via CAT since release but there is something that bugs me and I can't work out if there is a way to change it.

Whenever I click on a cluster spot the rig goes to the correct frequency and mode but always changes the filter width also which is really annoying.

I can't see anyway to prevent this or change it but I may be missing the obvious.

In V1 I seem to remember a tick box to prevent Log4OM changing the mode but it is not in V2 that I can find?

Any help appreciated.

HelloJames,

I have no expireince iwth Icom, and what I am going to say may not make sense , but let me say it. :)
There are radios that store settings internally and when we change bands or modes, it assumes the width in memory.
Try to change the mode on the radio without having the CAT turned on and check if the width shift still happens.

Another idea, and if you use Omnirig check the command file for your radio model, there may be a setting producing the change.
What I say may not make sense, but sometimes one more point may eventually give you some ideas to explore.

This is pretty common. Its not really radio related.

I forget the cause. I will ask Lele

Can we get your callsign so we can change your login? That is our forum policy here.

What 2.x version are you using? And OmniRig or HamLib?

Thanks for the all the helpful replies.

I have now edited the mode section of the Omnirig file for the IC-7300 so that the actual filter value is specified when changing mode because if it is not specified the radio chooses the default mode filter.

Is this a new rule?

I've been a member for 3 years and never heard of it before.

No we always requested it due to so much spam we are now enforcing it for new members
