Duplicate log entries

Post by NT6X »

Hi guys,
Recently I started getting duplicate log entries. I haven't changed a thing so I don't know what might be causing this. I"m using Log4OM with JTAlert so it might be a JTAlert issue, but if there's a chance it's Log4OM I wanted to ask here for possible suggestions.

Thanks,

Mike, NT6X

You did a wrong setup to WSJT-X. Think you´re using JTalert to check something as worked b4,
new DXCC or something like this. This means that JTalert must have logging enabled. If not it
can´t check the database.

If you use JTalert disable in Log4OM the UDP ADIF_MESSAGE for WSJT-X (or JT-DX) and you will
have only one entry per call. But this is stated also in our Users Manual.

Seems that you have JTAlert set to push QSO's to Log4om logbook but also have Log4OM set to monitor the WSJT ADIF file - That will cause duplicates - Use one or the other NOT BOTH

Sorry to bring this to the top but I have for some crazy reason been allowing Log4OM to do this with a good few hundred entries over a few different occasions. Especially some months ago before I realised. When I use WSJT-X I tend to minimise log4om so I can fit everything else on the screen. I then managed to delete my database and imported an adif log from QRZ and this has reemerged with some of the duplicates I`ve deleted and they have all come back again - about 1000!

Most of the data is the same - the only exception is the QSO date is around 18-30 seconds different like in the screen shot above. However, I have noticed that there is also a slight difference in the accuracy of the frequency. So I will have one record that says 7075.31 and the other 7075.307

Is there a way to automatically search and delete the duplicate QSO`s logged within 30 seconds of one another? Even if I have to do this manually, what is the easiest way? I note that in Log4om1 you could simply hit "delete" button to remove a QSO but now on log4om2 you need to open the QSO and select delete. I understand why but this is going to be a killer of a manual exercise!

Thanks for any help and support. Amazing software.

Export an ADIF file then reimport it but with the following settings

'Duplicates threshold' set to 60 seconds

'Drop current database

'Skip quality check corrections'

Load ADIF' checked

as in the image below.
