Log4OM V2 lockup/freezing

Post by mi0nwa »

Hi guys, ever since the new update 2.8.0.0 my log4om has been freezing up and not responding at radom times, it will maybe work for a few hours then all of a sudden I dont see my log updating when I send over a new QSO log from JT Alert.
I don't have the cluster running just CAT control via Omnirig, it does this lockup thing whether or not I'm connected via omnirig so I know its nothing to do wtth CAT control. It just locks up at random times.

I'm using an M.S.I laptop with i7 8th Gen CPU, 16gb ram and 128 gb SSD hard drive so my system is not old and pretty fast.

Cheers

Joe,

Quick search of the Forum and you will find a number of threads relating to the "lockups" that we're seeing.

We're still working on a solution that is a solid/consistent repair.

Don't know if this is relevent guys but I uninstalled the program and wiped all trace of it on my laptop and done a fresh install and fresh setup of everything the way I like it and so far no freezing/lockups.

I'm on digimodes and voice nearly everyday for a few hours at a time and when I'm not on I usually have the progams I'm using running away to save me turning everything on again when I come back to it, say after my dinner or something, on average 6-9 hours daily. I'll let you know if I get any freezing/lockups ;)

I dropped back to version 2.6.1.0 until update comes out that fixes lockup problems. As of now no lockups for two days.

I tried that but weird things were happening to my main log screen with items showing under the menus that I couldn't get rid of, so went back to the latest version.

I have noticed if I connect remotely via Teamviewer the software locks up straight away and have to close it down and restart it, the same when I disconnect the remote connection. This happens every single time. Also when I updated my graphics driver it froze as well.

I'm hoping you have found the source of the problem guys and hopefully a fix will be in the next release as this is starting to drive my crazy as I'm sure it's driving you guys crazy as well...

Joe,

Did you ever change your log level to debug or trace and capture some files that you could have forwarded to Terry and Lele?

There might have been a clue there.

You would have had to note all APPs running and mode of data transfer (UDP, etc.).

We're still digging for a solid item that can help us put this bug to rest.

Thanks for using Log4OM V2.
