Filters

Post by K2GAV »

I really like the filtering power of Log4OM, and the ability to save many filter settings for later recall. I see these are saved as .json files.

I suggested in another post that the currently active filter name be shown somewhere on the screen, perhaps beside the icon which changes to orange when there is a filter active. I also suggested a quicker way to recall a saved filter in that post.

Here I'd like to suggest that the last used filter be retained upon exiting the program, and for it to be again instituted upon restarting the program. In my particular case, I have about 37,000 entries in my log book. It runs noticeably faster if I don't have the program reprocess them all every time I change something, so I have a filter called 2020.json which only presents the QSOs made this year. In my case this is about 3,500 so far, so only about 10% of all my entries. I often have this filter active for the recent QSOs table, and it would be great if when I exit and restart that this filter would still be active.

Don't need a filter for that just set the DEFAULT number of qso's to be displayed in the settings/prigram configuration

As you don't need them to always open on restart just save them and load as required

I didn't realize that setting for grid default row count was there. Thanks for the suggestion for that particular need of mine.
