Sorry, Terry, when you say the exe file, are you talking about the download, before I double click to install?

The installed L4ONG.exe located here C:\Program Files (x86)\IW3HMH\Log4OM NextGen

The installed OmniRig.exe located here C:\Program Files (x86)\Afreet\OmniRig

Same with the SRR software wherever that might be

Unfortunately, nothing seems to be working. I think what I'm gonna have to do is completely remove everything and start from absolute scratch. How can I remove every file? At the moment, I am going into the programs & features and removing the logbook. However, it seems that my profile is still on my computer when I reinstall.

Okay, I think I may have discovered what is causing the radio to behave strangely. I think it's got something to do with the com port settings in the software. I put the radio on 40 m this morning and tuned up the band about 20 kHz. When I release the mouse key the frequency automatically jumped back to 7.150. I went into the "CAT" settings on the radio software and unchecked the box which opens up the com port. The problem ceased immediately.

I'm using VSPE to create my serial ports. Normally I would choose "power" and then use something like 5 & 6 comports. I choose COM Port 5 in the radio software and 6 in the logbook programme. Does it actually matter which comports I use?

Anyway, I'm not going to let this beat me. It's been working flawlessly on my PC so there's no reason why it shouldn't work on this laptop.

Unfortunately, I am going to have to concede. I have spent the whole day trying to connect the latest version to my Sun SDR and it just will not work. I've been talking to some of the guys on the Facebook forum and they have been having a similar problem as well. I can't understand what's going on. Somebody asked me for some screenshots from my VS PE. I actually made a video of me correcting the logbook and the radio together without any problems. But that was on my PC. I have tried doing exactly the same on the laptop but it just doesn't work.

Point me to your video and I will see if I can pinpoint the issue because I have zero knowledge of the sun software

It's okay Terry, we have found another way of connecting the Sun SDR to Log4OM. We are now using the TCI setting with SDC software and it's working really great. It's very strange because everything is working fine on my PC using the CAT. However, it just will not work on the laptop. And it's not just me, a few other guys have had exactly the same issue. Thankfully, we've now sorted the problem.

Perhaps you might like to detail both methods and either email them as a word doc to me for inclusion in our user guide or publish them here for the benefit of other users?
