Hi all
I have installed the portable version on a second computer, have copied the 2 files as mentioned in the manual at page 222... and it will not work. I have copied the user files as indicated on that same page.
When I open the program in the 2nd computer, there is no log.
I have exported the log from the first computer to adif, and imported it to the 2nd one, the database is empty, despite the fact the adif file seams to be imported (55,000+ QSQOs, and it takes a while...)
How do I "clone" a portable version from 1 computer to another one please ?

Re: 2nd computer
Why the portable version, why not the installed version as on pc number 1?
Files are stored in different locations in the portable version

Simply because I understand the portable version is exactly for this kind of situations... Log on different computers...
Is it not ?
I just want to have access to the same log from different computers (not simultaneously). The log is saved on the cloud for that purpose...

Re: 2nd computer
No portable is for running from a memory stick so you can use it on different computers without installing
You will be best to use installed version on both computers
Copy the config files as instructed
Store your database sqlite file in the cloud like Dropbox
On both computers file/ open database then navigate to the Dropbox location and select the sqlite file
Search user guide for cloud or dropbox

Re: 2nd computer
This takes us back to my original problem : have 2 sessions on 1 computer (2 different callas) which I want to be able to use simultaneously.
I understood the only way to achieve that was to use one installed version, and one portable version (but I have no stick, so not sure how it is working).
So... can I use 2 callsign databases simultaneously ? If so, how ? I know how to create 2 (or more) callsigns on one instance, but that does not solve my problem, because they cannot be used simultaneously.
If it is not possible, then I will have to use one logging program for one callsign, and another logging program for the other call ?

This is not described by your first post in this thread!F6EXV wrote: 02 Jan 2021, 17:07 This takes us back to my original problem : have 2 sessions on 1 computer (2 different callas) which I want to be able to use simultaneously.

Questions.
1. Do you need two different databases and why?
2. Will you be using WSJT or any other programs via UDP with both programs?
3. Do you want both programs running on one computer at the same time? or one on PC1 and another on PC2
4. Are the call signs completely different of just a derivative like /P or /MM

Re: 2nd computer
True, Terry, that was not mentioned on this thread, but on another one several weeks ago...
The callsigns are different (one is my own home call F6EXV, the other one is a clubcallsign located at my house, F4KMA), and I want to be able to switch from one to another without having to close a log, reopen the other one, etc... and yes, that would also apply to 2 simultaneous instances of JTDX, one for each callsign (so the JTDX logs are exported correctly to their respective Log4OM instances)
Am I better understood ?

Re: 2nd computer
OK the problem that you face is a UDP conflict trying to duplicate the UDP streams!
You best way is two computers both running the installed version but one configured for your own call and the other for the club call, this way your LOTW, EQSL, CLUBLOG etc uploads will be separated and function correctly.
Each computer running seperate installs of JTDX and Omnirig
Now you must decide if you want to run a combined database so that WB4 applies to ALL QSO'S or seperate database so that the two calls work autonomously? Answer the database question and we will take the next step!

Re: 2nd computer
Terry,
Your solution would work if I also had one separate rig for each callsign...
I am not rich enough to have such a station setup... !!!
And yes, I want 2 totally autonomous logs, not a combined database. To just take one example, I am at the top^of Honor Roll and 2900+ countries for the Challenge with my own call (43 years licensed) and just began (3 months ago) with the Club callsign. I do not want to mix these.
I know it is tricky...
