New Mode Q65

Post by WT0DX »

What is the proper modelist.csv entry for the new Q65 (WSJT-X v2.4.0-rc1) mode? Not yet an official ADIF mode...

To answer my own question... I added Q65;Q65;Q65.

I also needed to edit the rst.xml file adding <string>Q65</string> to the Mode Type DIGITAL configs.

And you will need to Add Q65 -> DIGITAL to your LOTW TQSL preference ADIF Mode settings.

Hi,

Are you sure..??

Remember the mistake that was made with FT8 ADIF definition..
FT8 should have been a Submode of MFSK, but is now a mode
FT4 is correct Submode of MFSK

So should Q65 be a Submode..??

Just raising this

Just found these posts on the FT8 / FT4 issue from "yesterday" ,, Not sure if Q65 ADIF definition will eventually be affected

Neil Zampella
Due to the time pressure put on the ADIF committee when FT8 was launched in July 2017, FT8 was defined as a MODE, not as a SUBMODE to MFSK, as it should have been. When FT4 showed up, they had better time to consider the technical merits and made a correct definition of the mode/submode in ADIF terms. With the millions and millions of FT8 QSO logged and confirmed in various QSL systems, I believe the FT( mode "error" will never be corrected.

The ADIF definition of FT4 is that is a submode under MFSK, so unless you insist on the mode being FT4, I suggest you follow the ADIF standard used by thee
logging programs. HRD was a bit slow in gettings these things organized, but now it is very simple to get it to work with correct Mode MFSK and Submode FT4:
Open HRD Logbook, Open Configure - Mode, click on the Defaults button in the menu line, click OK and you are good to go. Mode/Submode will be correct,
and everything will work smoothly with e.g. Logbook of the World.

Yes, the ADIF developers group has discussed it as Mode=MFSK,
Submode=Q65. I have not seen an official statement, but since the
designation is not controversial I would expect it to be added to
the next update of the standard sometime before WSJTX 2.4.0 has
its official (GA) release (that is no longer a "release candidate").

The latest version of Trusted QSL released today has now been updated to accept Q65. Hopefully the next version of Log4OM will now include Q65 as an option.

Not a new TQSL release, a new configuration file. It´s also in the Submode list of ADIF 3.12.
Mode is MFSK and Submode Q65.
