Hi All,
Apologies, I originally posed this in the v1 support section by mistake but I am actually using v2. Perhaps a moderator could delete my OP?
New ham here looking for the best logging software!
I have a Xiegu G90 which is supported natively by Flrig and uses the Icom-7100 settings with baud rate of 19200 in Omnirig.
Flrig works flawlessly but I am having problems getting Omnirig to work with Log4OM. Both the test clients installed with Omnirig work fine, but I cannot for the life of me get Log4OM to interface with Omnirig for CAT control. I have looked at lots of posts on here and a few people seem to have the same problem but I have not been able to find a solution. I have also watched Terry’s video tutorials which were great.
It’s a pity Log4OM doesn’t work with Flrig out of the box, and Hamlib looks confusing!
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Simon (M7WWX)

Re: CAT control via Omnirig (Xiegu G90)
CAT via Omnirig and Flrig (to control Fldigi) the same time does not work.
I do it that way:
To work with Fldigi
Rig --> Cat --> Flrig --> Fldigi
Logging:
No cat in Log4OM. But I sent the logged contact (with the correct QRG etc.) via UDP from Fldigi to Log4OM.
Configuration --> ADIF Functions: Enable ADIF Monitor checked and ADIF files, add the Fldigi logbook.
Applications --> Fldigi --> set the UDP port there.

Re: CAT control via Omnirig (Xiegu G90)
Many thanks for the reply. I realise you can’t use Flrig and Omnirig as the same time, as the COM port can only be used by one program.
I had the latest version of Log4OM and Omnirig installed, so this evening I uninstalled everything and reinstalled, opting to install the version of Omnirig bundled with the Log4OM installation.
It’s obviously an older version of Omnirig but hey presto, I have CAT control! Now I need to work out how to interface Log4OM with WSJT-X…

Guess you had been using the Swiss version of Omnirig which does not work with Log4OM

73´s .. Juergen ... ALT-512 SDR (10W) , 50 m random wire at SG-211 autotuner, 2 x Xiegu G90 (20W HF TRX) one as portable Radio. Also TS-790E (40 W) for VHF/UHF with X-50 vertical and Duoband 4-Element LPDA.

Thanks Juergen,
I’ve seen you post these settings before.
In fact both these seem to work equally well.
Do you know what the differences mean?

Re: CAT control via Omnirig (Xiegu G90)
Think RTS & DTR are only needed if a software switches PTT. If not there will be no difference between High or Low. That's what I think about it.

Re: CAT control via Omnirig (Xiegu G90)
I realise that Terry. Was just highlighting that on the 2-tab version, Omnirig works with 1 or 2 stop bits selected, and RTS and DTR set to low or high. I wondered what effect these settings have.
Shouldn’t have included the Swiss screenshot, but the settings highlighted also work on the older version.

Simon

Re: CAT control via Omnirig (Xiegu G90)
RTS and DTR were from the old times mostly where you used a serial com port on your PC. With USB in most cases these settings are obsolete.
