FT747GX CAT ISSUES

Post by py2pll »

Hi All, Marcus, PY2PLL + PY3CRX
Running LOG4OM 2 .2.23.0.0

I'm trying to use an old FT-80C (FT747GX) connected via serial COM1 + Hamlib. Only connects after a few clicks on the "ok" green button at the CAT interface and when it connects the displayed frequency is 100 times bigger than the real one (e.g to have 7025.000KHz on the program radio needs to be at 70.25KHz).

If I force the radio to a usual ham band frequency using the rig VFO, software shows an error at the BAND selector, because the frequency read from radio is 100X lower and does not match any ham band.

At the same time when I try to use the CAT Control window, frequency is 100x bigger, CW mode seems to be always on and as soon as I try to change modes (USB LSB etc) CAT disconnect.

Finally, this rig works ok with a apps such as N1MM and two other standalone CAT UI, with any COM (native or those USB adaptors). Any ideas?

Try Omnirig vom AFreet Software (Not the V2 from Switzerland). Most Users have problems with Hamlib. Omnirig can also handle
multithreading. Maybe Log4OM and WSJT-X/Z/JTDX can grab the frequency. In this case all softwares must run as administrator.

Excellent! Worked like a charm! It's an old rig - in fact it is a FT-80C - vy simple but I modified it to operate "normal 100W" and "QRP 5W" via toggle switch in the back panel. Thanks.

I read somewhere on the forum that there's a difference between single x dual click on a line at the cluster. Seems that single click fill the fields but does not send informed cluster mode and frequency to the radio. And dual click does. Is it correct?
