MAIN UI MAP SLOW

Post by KH6CT »

Greetings...
After double clicking on a callsign in the cluster, I select the main ui map to see more closely where the contact is located. Map on left loads instantly showing line between me and the potential contact. Map on right is extremely slow to load (30 seconds or more). Rolling the mouse wheel will cause erratic action... single click on the mouse wheel will cause a jump from large scale to small scale... once map has rested on a scale of its choice, it is very slow to load (30 seconds or so). Moving the map with a right click and drag seems to work ok. The map never shows the Google Street Level view.

Running Log4OM, Win4Yaesu and SDRConsole. Computer is a Dell i7-4700 @3.4GHz, 16GB ram, 250GB SSD.
Task manager shows only 3 to 5% CPU load for Log4OM with a total load for all other software and services being about 20 25%.

Any thoughts ??

Thanks, Steve KH6CT

Try unchecking these two boxes and see if that improves things

In my 2.24.0.5 version the destination map never comes up.

Immediately as I enter a call sign into the call sign field, a blue line, pointing towards
the station I entered is shown, but the background map unfortunately never comes up.
Background stays grey ;-(

If there is no call sign in the call sign field, my home location with a map background
comes up pretty fast.

Any hints please, to solve this ?

Zoom out does not help, same 'blind' map.
I changed (but where did I change ?) to OpenStreetMap.
Now I have blue tiles with time out messages.
Internet speed is sufficient, response from QRZ.com comes immediately.

... and now I can't find the setting Google or OpenStreetMap - where did I change this ?
Manual has not entry for that, must be new. Please give me a vector which menu that has ;-)
Thanks in advance !

Wolfgang,

Settings / Configuration / Program Settings ... Select Map Provider (Google Maps, Bing Maps, Open Street Maps)

Has always been there, but additional Map Providers have been added.

Thank you Nolan, that was self-trickery. Some major entries in the 'Program Configuration' menu are grayed
out - there are no setting options in the heading there, only in the sub-menus. But in the first two, in black,
'Program Settings' and 'User Configuration' do have entries in the major menu entry.
And these I have skipped. All set now ;-)
