Integration with Win4Icom and IC-7100 Radio

Post by kk4gmu »

I am attempting to integrate LOG40M with Win4Icom Suite. My radio is an IC-7100. Windows 10 desktop.
I reviewed the Manual pp 225-227.
I created com0com virtual ports, which work well in Win4Icom for several other apps.

My problem: When I open in proper sequence, LOG40M does not sync with my IC-7100 or Win4Icom.
However, once I log out of Win4Icom, LOG40M did sync with the radio.

The proper setting in OmniRig is unclear to me in the instructions.

I don’t have the 5 tab Omni – Rig window as shown in the instructions. Only the 2 column, Rig 1 and Rig 2.

I have Rig 1 set for my 7100 as IC7100e4DATA on COM 3 for my radio.

I am uncertain how to set Rig 2. I have the virtual Port pair set correctly. Your Example shows Elecraft KX3 as the Rig type. Neither that Rig Type nor setting Rig Type as an IC-7100xxx rig works. I have the Baud Rate matching @ 38400.

Alternatively, could I use Hamlib for CAT instead of Omnirig for Win4Icom? Or is that not possible?

What can you recommend to me?

In Omnirig Rig 1 and Rig 2 cannot use the same com port - Rig 2 needs to be a different radio and port if I recall

My point is, the instructions are unclear and I need better, more specific guidance on setup.

I have win4yeasu on my system (* similar) and using Omnirig 1.2 for log4om to have cat to my ft-dx10. it works fine, using a comport created in win4yaesu ( which is created in com0com first ) other than omnirig needing icom addressing, make sure comport baud rates are correct

and I have both ports setup with seperate com ports, so I can monitor vfo B
