FT8/FT4 spots

Post by w9mdb »

Been trying to get FT8 spots (would also apply to FT4) on the standard frequencies to show "Spot Mode" of FT8 instead of a blank.
If FT8 is in the comment field it gets put into the Spot Mode. But if, for example, a spot on 14074 comes in without a comment Spot Mode shows blank.
Goal here should be any spot in the FT8/FT4 bands is tagged with Spot Mode=FT8(FT4)
Spots are now being reported in 100Hz resolution...e.g. 14074.5

I've tried adding another special frequency but neither of these will show Spot Mode of FT8
<string>14074000|FT8</string>
<string>14074500|FT8</string>

Also tried adding a range with no log guessing on the SpotMode and then also tried the Mode tags.
<BandPlanRange>
<Band>20m</Band>
<Start>14074</Start>
<End>14077</End>
<SpotMode>FT8</SpotMode>
<Mode>FT8</Mode>
<EmissionType>DIGITAL</EmissionType>
<ModulationType>USB</ModulationType>
</BandPlanRange>

How you got your idea?!
According to IARU bandplan for 20m on 14074 CW AND ANY DATA MODE IS ALLOWED.

If anybody is doing anything other than FT8 on that frequency range they are nuts.
And it's my bandplan I want to modify (user customized one if you're not familiar) and not necessarily updating the default ones.
Although I would maintain that as of today the FT8 bands for the appropriate ranges (e.g. 14074-14077) are 99.99% FT8 and almost that high for the FT4 bands.
So I want the vast majority of the spots to be correct in the Spot Mode.
