CW - Notes field - Cluster

Post by K4TOR »

Anyone know where this mess is coming from? Only on CW spots.

Have you looked at your direct cluster feed? I happen to utilize various nodes (most all part of the ve7cc network) and can view their feed via CCUser.

It is visible there to begin with and then does show up in Log4OM's cluster display tabs.

Likely added by the RBN or Skimmer sites.

Also it provides information and by many OMs is not necessarily a 'mess'.

Just started the VE7CC User, and sure enough, its there as well. Thanks for the heads up. I turned off the skimmer from ve7cc.

Yep, those are skimmer entries from RBN sites.

Just as a preference I use the RBN system a lot more than user generated spots.

However, I generate spots for folks who are trying to reach a broader audience and not getting caught (or decoded) by RBN. This is sometimes an issue for SKCC folks as we are on manual keys (straight keys, bugs, cooties) and sometimes the RBN software won't catch the right call.
