What is the advantage of searching for the part of a call unassociated with the country identifier/prefix/suffix? you will get hundreds of results even on a moderate sized log of say 10K QSO's

Excuse me, perhaps the word suffix is translated differently from Italian to English.
For example, in Italian, the prefix is IW7
the suffix is DOL

Same as here in DL land ... My Prefix is DF5 and my Suffix is WW. Slash GD0 shows the Prefix of the guest county where
someone operates from and it not counts as a "suffix" here.
