Hi Aldo,
Copy the attached file to the C:\……….\Program files\Afreet\Omnirig\rigs folder and allow it to overwrite the old file

NOTE FOR EVERYONE
Let me make it quiet clear, the modified file is not a file created by Log4om (Daniele IW3HMH) it is an Omnirig file that has the commands reversed for these specific rigs.

I am editing the files to correct the Omnirig error, to help our users, it is not a Log4OM bug and in reality I should refer our users to the author of Omnirig but modifying the file for them is faster.

I am making this note because of an extremely rude and critical direct email that I received this morning that suggested, in not so polite terms, that we should not provide software with all these rig descriptor .ini bugs.

I'm curious to know who is this genius...
if he's reading this forum:

Dear OM
Log4OM is a free software. It's made for HAM and no one is forced to install and use it.
If you think that writing rude emails to team members or even simple users it's the right way to interact with us this is probably not a good software for you, because the most invaluable asset of Log4OM is his community (at least for me).

We usually have bugs, troubles, problems and everything else you can imagine in our software, but there are a lot of pay softwares on the market where you can give away your money and you can have some arguments to be rude with the authors that won't provide you a good service (but please note that i still deplore this).

By the way the "bug" was in OmniRig config file for the specific radio. You should refer to Alex VE3NEA that is the author of this FANTASTIC piece of software. If you want to have your bug fixed you can buy and ship a brand new rig to Alex, and he will be glad to check the INI file for you.

Terry, please write a note to Alex with the new INI file, he will be glad to update the scripts.

Regards

I sure hope that this person soon puts as much effort in to taking lessons in comprehension of the written word. Hopefully more effort than they have taken in writing a rude email.

To help them along a little, let me point out (the obvious) that I started this thread, NOT in the bugs, but in the 'General Discussion' AND, the title of the thread is "I think I have missed a setting".... As it turns out, that is EXACTLY what I missed and Terry was kind enough to point out to me where that setting was, a setting SPECIFIC to my situation... He even went to the trouble of sending me the file with those settings for my setup just to save me doing it myself. FANTASTIC SERVICE and certainly not deserving of a moronic email.

Again Terry, thank you for all your excellent work and efforts.

I know this is an old thread but I have an IC-7800 that I would like for Omnirig to change the mode to RTTY instead of Digi-L. I tried to edit the Ic7800.ini file but when I save it back to the rigs folder Omnirig won't recognize it. I edited it in note pad and Notepad++. I open the file edit it, save as ic7800v4.ini in the Omnirig rigs folder then close Log4OM. Then reopen Log4OM and go to Omnirig and the pull down menu for rigs but no Ic7800v4?

What am I doing wrong?

Dave,
Before you go any further please download the latest rig ini download from Omnirig's site because there have been a lot of updates in the past couple of weeks

Also ensure that your radio has the latest firmware version installed, I believe its version 3.10 now

The Omnirig rig folder does not have a 7800V4 file there is a 7800.ini and a 7800v3.ini?

Please let me know how you get on
