Com port issues with wsjt
Com port issues with wsjt
I'm using Log4OM2 V 2.32.1.0 with an Icom 7600 and 9100 connected on separate USB cables to the pc. All worked perfectly for years and then I got a bonehead idea to try WSJT-X. The install worked and I played with it but then I shut it down and went into Log4OM2 and it messed up the connections on both radios so I got frustrated and removed WSJT-X but (of course) that didn't fix it. I was able to get the 9100 to connect by changing the com port to com7 which apparently Windows 11 did when I removed the WSJT-X program but still don't have connection on com 3 with the 7600 via omnirig. I love this logging program and don't want to change to something else but I don't want to go back paper & pencil either. Please help. Thanks, Jack

Re: Com port issues with wsjt
You probably selected the radio in the WSJT software instead of Omnirig rig 1 or 2

I don't recall that but how do I reverse it now that I removed the wsjt software? Also can you tell me how to change my profile to something other than "novice class". I've looked all over in the profile. Thanks for responding. Jack

Not sure how the Novice title gets changed but I think its related to the number of posts by a user?
Could you post a screenshot of your device manager showing the com port list?

This is with both rigs and Log4om running. Com3 pops up with 7600, Com7 & 8 pop up with 9100.

Dissconnect the two radios from the PC
Reinstall the genuine Icom USB drivers
Reconnect radios
Ensure 7300 Baud rate matches that set in Omnirig

Well that worked thankfully. I appreciate the expertise.
But I have a couple more questions if you don't mind.
Log4OM shows both vfos with no issues on the 7600 using one com port. But apparently the 9100 only shows the main vfo and not the sub at the same time. That was the case before this last issue. And it appears to use 2 com ports 7 & 8 via one cable. Is there a way to configure 2 com ports in Omnirig so I can get both like the 7600?

Re: Com port issues with wsjt
As far as I recall the 9100 code set does not include that feature, there was the same defficiency with the 7100 and 7700 until Icom provided a firmware update but I dont think they included the 9100 in that.N0JVR wrote: 03 Jun 2024, 16:05 Well that worked thankfully. I appreciate the expertise.

Well at least I won't waste my time trying that, thanks for all the info Terry.
If I can I'd like to ask one more question. Some time ago I was looking thru the posts about trying to get a list of countries that I "Haven't" worked from Log4OM2. Is that possible?
