Save Windows layout

Post by ON4VP »

Hi,

I like to make a suggestion for further releases.
I like the possibility in N1MM to save the position of all open windows.
So the next time when the program is started all the windows open in the same order and place.

It would be great if Log4om supported this feature. In case (I had it before) of a shutdown (hanging program) you loose all your stuff that you changed during that session (location of the windows, open windows, etc)

So if you could pull the 'settings' menu down and have a menu item to save all open windows with there position on the screen, that would be great.

Thanks.

Hi Terry,

I find that it only save about half the windows that I have open.

Whenever I start Log4OM the first thing I do is on the Main (F6) tab is "Show Statistics". Every now and then the "Show Statistics" is there but the majority of the time it is not.

I then Detach the Statistics panel and it always displays on my 3rd monitor where it was when I closed Log4OM. The detached window NEVER displays when starting Log4OM and but is always open when I close Log4OM.

Similarly, the UTC clock always opens up on its spot on the 2nd monitor but the QSL Manager window does not open up even though it was open when closing Log4OM.

These might be by design or limited by the software.

Minor quirks on what is a fantastic logging program.

OK now I know what windows you refer to I can explain.

1. It is not possible for the small statistics window to be persistant on restart due to the design of that window. However you have the same information in the matrix to the right of the input pane so do you need to duplicate it with the detached pane?

2. The QSL manager window not being persistent on restart is an issue that I will add to our list, it should be persistent!

There have been some issues in the area of window persistency and sizing when using multiple monitors with Windows and I beleive there is a small app that overcomes this, worth checking.

Appologies for the inconvenience but we will fix the QSL manager issue in due course.

Terry,

In the statistics window I can double click a band/mode box and see who I worked there. However, that can't be done in the matrix next to the input pane. Allowing the statistics window to open on program start would be nice, although not a major item in my case.
