Macros to recall specific settings

Post by 2E0UMK »

I use an elderly TS140-S from Kenwood with a home-built audio interface. it doesn't have CAT.
Consequently, when I use Log4OM, other than in digimodes where WSJT-X makes the log for me, I must manually create the log entry. I use a very few repeaters, but remembering their frequencies and offsets is beyond me, although I do like keeping an accurate log.
Would it be possible to create a set of macros which are programmed to automatically enter the band, mode, rx freq, tx freq, a commend (by default the name of the repeater), and freeze the start and end time?
Hope this helps!!

Search 'Memory reminder' in the user guide, perhaps that will help

D'oh! I knew it was too obvious a feature for you to have omitted! Thank you!

I don't think that's quite what I was looking for. This feature seems to automatically select the mode for a given entered frequency.
If I'm using a repeater (or, say an HT with one of the programmed frequency sets), the nuisance is remembering the frequency (both Tx and Rx).
Ideally, I'd like to be able to select a repeater from a list, for example, and have the repeater frequencies and mode added into the part of the window where I add the new QSO details. Along, perhaps, with a comment giving the name of the repeater.
Hope that request makes more sense.
Thanks.
