OK, I was having some issues with my old PC with a couple of applications. I decided to build a higher end PC. I know resources are not an issue. I'm running Windows 11 Professional (only thing I run) with plenty of RAM.
I was not able to find an easy way to move the program/data from one PC to another. I didn't find/see any instructions. I started doing a fresh install. I figured an export/import would be easy (what was I thinking?) Both PCs are the same patch level and program versions.
At the moment, my big issue is getting the CAT/HAMLIB working. I used the same settings as the old PC. It gets connected, but the main program screen does not show the radio frequency.
On the old PC, spots were coming into one program that were not showing up in Log4OM. My thought was that it was a data processing issue. I have packet working. I have not tested against the log yet. I know there was not any viable options before.
I really want to get rid of the old program, these issues are kicking my butt! I have not even addressed or looked at LOTW and other features!!

Read the user guide section about migrating to another pc
Why are you using Hamlib why not use the more reliable Omnirig
Information helps us help you so
What radio
Log4om version number
Details re other spot program etc?

I don't see any indication in the table of contents for moving to a new computer. i now realize that you sort of talk about moving the data from one database to another. Same principle, that is how i was going about it. I don't see how to move the user configuration. I can see how to create multiple configs.
I would prefer to just use the IP address and not have to use omnirig or hamlib. Hamlib works perfectly on one PC and not on the other. Just baffling. Never worked with TIC (just haven't looked into it). I can still fire up the old PC and it works. One of the cool features of using IP, I can have multiple programs talk to the radio without conflict. FYI, I have ONLY prrogram (Log4OM) running at the moment.
I've been using DXLAB Suite. So DXKeeper and SpotCollector will tell me about more band/mode needs than Log4OM. I've had them running to learn and not miss stuff I need.
Radio is a Elecraft K4D
Log4OM is the latest 2.35.1.0

Re: New PC/Packet/Hamlib/etc..
The user guide is a PDF file and as such it can be searched which having done so refered me to page 282
If your radio is network controlled the only option is to use Hamlib but Omnirig is more reliable and works with multiple programs also. Added to which Michael Black who seems to be the only developer.maintainer of Hamlib has just died so not sure what will happent to Hamlib
If DXLab fullfills your requirements why change? is a very well developed and supported program.

Re: New PC/Packet/Hamlib/etc..
Why do we switch radios or why do we change something? Lots of reasons and I have mine. Still getting used to this program. I have used it and like some of the looks and features. Still need to learn some of the procedures.
Thank you, I didn't use correct search in the PDF. Now hamlib is working just fine. I saved the config.json file to see what is different. Since I had moved the data directory to a different location, I was able to modify the location in the file too. Made it very easy to do.
Have to run out to a fund raiser. Hopefully later I can run some more comparisons and give some examples.

Re: New PC/Packet/Hamlib/etc..
I believe I may have semi figure it out why I miss some of the spots.
The packet will filter out "Worked", but there is not an option for "Needed". It would be great to have that option. The volume of spots is just too high.

Surely Not worked = Needed?
If you have not worked a country then it must be required
