There is a significant (several seconds) delay between clicking a spot on the cluster window and the actual QSY of the radio.
Is this true for all, or just something in my installation? (I don't have the delay in other programs such as WriteLog)
Rig control speed
Re: Rig control speed
In Log4OM I am using Omnirig.IW3HMH wrote:what CAT software are you using?
And I may have found the cause of the issue.
My rig control goes through a virtual port in a microKEYER-II.
Also connected to my radio through "2nd Cat" in microKEYER is an instance of NaP3 (LP Panadaptor software). I imagine I am getting polling collisions, but for whatever reason my other logging application, WriteLog (contesting) seems less affected.
I can live with it.
Re: Rig control speed
Meanwhile I am fiddling with polling rates in both applications, trying to find a balance which will work the best.
NaP3 is quite chatty on CAT. I'll experiment to find some middle ground which both apps will tolerate.

Re: Rig control speed
keep us informed.
Probably too many commands on omnirig port will "saturate" the software capability, that will discard requests instead of crashing.
