Sat Mode missing?

Post by WA4SCA »

There is a Sat Mode field which you can place in the log columns. In other programs, that means VU, UV etc rather than the transmission mode, and when I import data from another program, that is what it shows. I wasn't able to successfully edit that within Log4OM. Also, when I go to Options|Expert there is a button for Sat Mode, however nothing happens when I click it. All the other buttons work. Is a file missing? I am using 1.18.0.0.

Very strange.
Did you have a file called SATMODELIST.CSV in your settings folder? (settings is accessible from HELP menu)
If not, copy the MODELIST.CSV into SATMODELIST.CSV

the settings button is probably a glitch i'm checking now

There is already a SATMODELIST.CSV present in the settings folder.

Hi,

Let me say that I am NOT an expert on ADI files. :) I have used another program which includes the mode in its ADI export, and Log4OM does import it to the Sat Modes column. The part of the file looks like this: USA <SAT_NAME:5>SO-50 <SAT_MODE:2>VU <PFX:2>W5 <State:2>

I can help with the Sat Modes. The old, single letter modes such as A, B, J have been replaced with a new system of two letters which give the uplink and downlink bands. However, people still use the old single letter, especially for older modes which are no longer used. I added some additional modes to your list, and removed the "/" which is sometimes used in text but is not necessary.

This isn't really required for LoTW or eQSL, since you have the frequencies, but is convenient for a quick glance.
