database update

Post by n9itb »

I keep getting a message saying db upgrade required, and have lost all of my contact logs.
I have searched to find a resolution without success.
I wonder if you folks could help me out.
I believed it was version 1.15, I installed 1.19 and same problem.

Thank You,

Jack,
Can you see your database on your hard drive ???.sqlite file

Did you do regular automatic backups and if so can you locate them?

Yes, I found the database file.sclite. When I select file/open database, and select the file, I lose the listing under the Recent button. When I select a new database file I just made all the qso's list since I just made the file in the last couple days.

Automatic backups??? Probably not. Not sure about that. Were do you find them? When into program files. Not sure what the name of the files are.

Thanks g4pop,

Some changes on DB structure happened from 1.15 to 1.19, all changes are progressively applied when upgrading through 1.16, 1.17, 1.18
You should have an ADIF backup in your settings folder, from that you're able to recover all informations.

Sorry for the delay Terry. It is 6:00 p.m., Monday evening U. S. central time and Log4om has just mysteriously repeated the same problem as before. The new database I made a week ago with another 225 contacts on it has gone into the " DB UPGRADE REQUIRED " Status again, and has cleared the (Recent screens listings).
I found in the Setting 2 page, Backup folder (empty + default) and Optional secondary backup folder (No delete on secondary are empty. Backup depth is (6).
Autobackup on closing is check marked.
I can locate the database files,
c:\users\Jack\Documents\log4omdatabases\jacks4nov2014database.SQLite
When selected to open in log4om just get this message. DB UPGRADE REQUIRED.

That's about all I can think of for now. Sure hope its a snap for you to remedy.
Thank you.
Oh, yes I do have Skype.

What happens if you click OK when the database upgrade window shows

Can you create a new database and import the latest ADIF backup?

Hello Terry. It's 10 a.m. Tuesday morning U.S. time.
I am happy to report that I figured out how to find and download the backup adif files into a new database file and "Walla" all my contacts are restored from 2013 to the present.
Now if we could stop the database files from this " update business ".

Thank you so much for your professional and prompt assistance. It really means alot, when your on the I don't know what to do end.
It really shows how dedicated you are to your work.

Sincerely,

It should not happen again now that a new database has been created with version 1.19.0
