Log File Analysis

Post by WA2SQQ »

The more I’m using LOG4OM, the more I wonder how I went so long without using it – it’s a very well thought out program. I started using LOG4OM about 5 months ago, almost 4 years after starting to use HRD. Throughout this time LOTW and EQSL have been used for the majority of my QSL’ing activity. What I’m now realizing is that many DX stations don’t use LOTW, and EQSL isn’t recognized towards DXCC.
I’m wondering if this dilemma has not been previously considered, and if any database search options are planned for a future release. Such options to consider might be to scan the log and determine:

1. What contacts for which an EQSL was received, that have no other paper QSL or LOTW verified contacts? These represent countries that if properly verified could add to your official DXCC total.
2. What contacts for which an LOTW request has been submitted, to stations that do not use LOTW – (for which no other verified contact for the country currently exists in the log.) Again, these represent potential new countries (if properly verified.)

Hi ?????
You can already do this by using the "search parameters" button, use searches like

Search field LOTW received Status - equals = - then leave the data field empty

This will search will list all QSO's not verified by LOTW

Compound that with further parameters like QSL rcvd status not equal to Y and you can drill right down to those QSO's that you need confirmation or verification.

You could even exlude your country by using a search like DXCC not equal to 223 for example

Our search parameters are are very powerful tool
