Hi Chuck

Duane's trials remind of the struggle I faced some months ago.

By the way, do you have a LOTW account? If so download your credits from LOTW and LOG4OM will update them automatically. Much easier.
I think this will only correctly work if all your DXCC records are post computerization. My DXCC has credits back to 1975. The ADIF from LOTW (DXCC QSL Download) was not really clean. Recent credits (awarded through LOTW) were correct, but prior to the 90s, some of my credits didn't even have a complete call prefix only or correct date of QSO. An example:

CALL:2>VE
<QSO_DATE:8>19451115
<DXCC:1>1
<COUNTRY:6>CANADA
<CREDIT_GRANTED:4>DXCC
<APP_LoTW_CREDIT_GRANTED:6:S>DXCC-M
<eor>

When processing cards and paper applications, a lot of information simply wasn't recorded according to the DXCC desk when I asked. So I never got a clean automatic update in LOG4OM.

I always felt that there was an easier way, but even with W7DRM's help I still wound up doing it manually. I'm not a big time DX'er, but it was still right at 900 band/entities. Its still not right, my totals are still off - no doubt missing a record or other error doing it manually. I've spent enough time on it for now.

I'm curious - is LOG4OM looking at the ADIF field "CREDIT_GRANTED" or "APP_LoTW_CREDIT_GRANTED"? The latter is appears to be more specific. A better example:

(rest of ADIF record deleted)
<APP_LoTW_CREDIT_GRANTED:40:S>DXCC-M,DXCC-PH,DXCC-10,DXCC-CHAL,DXCC-5B

This information shows how a specific QSO is credited. Which to me, at least, is important. Others may only be interested in the count.

Thanks and 73 de David KT5V
