I even found an older (2010) version of omnirig, and that line is in it as well
I dont have any other program to try omnirig on, that i know of to see if if responds the same way.

Have you tried using Hamlib instead of Omnirig?

Alex replied and sent me HIS ini file for the 590s. the cluster spots are not changing as they should. must have had something in mine that should not have been

Dave,
Did Alex indicate if he was going to update his list of INI files at the d/l site? I don't use/have a 590s, but my 'collection' of INI files also have the garble string you noted above.
FWIW - I just checked the d/l site (Friday - 01/08/2021) and he has not yet changed the INI zip file. I'm sure that will happen in time.

you will have to ask him, but I was also having it pointed out that those "garbage" characters are in a line with ; in the lead, making it a comment line, so "garbage" is irrelevant.. it might have just ben my ini that got corrupt..
