WA2SQQ wrote:Terry, you did an outstanding job explaining how LOG4OM is so much better than HRD. As a former HRD user, I'm surprised to see that no one commented that with each new HRD update, they somehow manage to break some feature. LOG4OM is an undiscovered treasure!

I just finished importing all my contacts back to 1971. LOG4OM's powerful search features and queries found 16 new countries and revealed that I've worked 43 of the 50 US states on 160m.

Thanks for the comments they are appreciated, great news on the extra countries and states uncovered by Log4OM

We only try to explain the advantages of Log4OM as we see them, we never knock or run down the competition.

Perhaps I am a bit romantic...
I would like to summarize in a simple phrase why log4OM is better than HRD and several others...

Log4Om is created with the art of coding and with heart feeling.

No other gives what Log4OM offers:
The best Logbook
The best price : 0
The best assistance: no other compares with Log4OM.

Daniele and all the team deserves from us gratitude, and consideration.

Daniele, many thanks for Log4OM. :D

I would like to share my thoughts as to why Log4OM is the best.
These items are in no particular order.
1) Daniele
2) Terry
3) The other unnamed people who test/write Log4OM
4) This forum. Not only because it is active, but because it does not use the shitty Yahoo groups that seem to be so popular.
5) Excellent manual
6) Terry's videos
7) The forum mods

The most important reason is the thoughts behind the program and putting the user first and seriously considering suggestions. Most freeware programs I come across, tell the user sooner or later, if they are having problems is to "Fuck off! What do you expect from a free program"? This is not the case with Log4OM.

I cannot wait for v2. Though I am not a programmer or a particularly active amateur, I would like to offer my time to the program's development, either for testing/ideas, proof reading documentation or anything else. The only thing to get in my way at the moment is having frequent spine operations and trying to recover. My time is almost my own as I have only worked for two months out of the past 18.
