Really struggling to print on Brother VC500W

This is a continuous roll printer.
I have tried 9mm wide tape. On this I want to print a single QSO but the resulting label has no text (or it gets printed in white)
I've attached the settings and the PDF. I have checked that the printer does print OK from the P-Touch editor.
